Last week doing my practicum....

So in case anyone wants to know... Deng Youping is doing well here in Beijing. He is slated to write the chinese bar exam sometime in september. He wanted me to tell everyone hello and wishes you all well. I met up with Youping for dinner last week. It was fun. I also met his girlfriend who was very nice as well. He is currently working for a chinese law firm for free and is waiting as I mentioned to get his license so he can look for a paying job as a lawyer here. Anyways, it was nice to see him and I will probably meet him next week for dinner.

Its my last week here at the Centre. Before I leave I am to give a presentation to the lawyers here at the centre on Divorce, matters of division of property, spousal support and another one on sexual harassment laws and codes in Canada. Yeah its not going to be fun I tell yah, no power point, just 10 chinese lawyers sitting at the conference table looking at me waiting eagerly for the translator to translate what I said. so its going to be a whole day event. My 2nd last day is when I'm slated to present this stuff. fun fun..

I am tired and got to work 2 hours late. This is due to my roommates kindness yesterday night. It was a fun night.. first we went to the Manchester United vs Beijing Hyundai Friendly soccer match, then to a rooftop bar and later on at about 2am to this club. Yeah, dont' know why I let myself go out so late on a school night .. but thought I would just go with the flow since I was having fun anyways. But this coming home WAY past my bedtime hurts my head way too much especially when I have to read all this material for the presentation.. yeah.. as Justin Timberlake says.. cry me a river...

okay, so I was going to leave Beijing August 26, but am now leaving August 17 to attend to some stuff in Vancouver and also because there was a seat open that day. So.. if you're going to come to BEijing Jawad.. Before August 17 would be good. CAuse I am imagining that all I will be doing after I finish my practicm here is... work on my practicum paper to be submitted Aug 15, go shopping, eat, drink and be merry... oh and also watch Sopranos.. okay.. am addicted b/c once you start watching any TV series back to back.. you are hooked and have to keep watching.
